Heritage Awali Golf & Spa resort is an all inclusive 5 star hotel and an award winning resort. With its pristine beach, a vast green oasis & golf course, Awali resort is the ideal gateway for adventure seekers, a family holiday or simply as a quiet retreat.
Spacious, airy and clean, our beach & pool view room decor flaunted the African concept of Awali. The room was well equipped. There was a minibar with juices, beer, soft drinks refilled once a day topped up with snacks and tea & coffee facilities in the room.
We had our own little terrace that offered a captivating scene of the ocean and the sunset. Sea view room, Beachfront room, Garden view, Senior suite or Private villa, the choice is yours.
Service & Hospitality
We had a warm welcome upon arrival of the African drum playing as we got out of the car and a refreshing cocktail in hand. This area is definitely their strength. All the staffs, always smiling and polite, were extremely well trained. It was almost like we knew some of them since long. We even got free goodies such as hat and shirt. After the formalities were done, we headed to the main bar/lounge area where tea time was held.
Food (Photo gallery)
With five restaurants and bars within Awali and 12 restaurants & bars for the Heritage group, they excelled our expectations. Food was of a superior quality, fresh & delicious. We had international dinner and breakfast buffet at Savanna Restaurant. As mentioned, you can choose to eat at any of the 12 restaurants of Heritage group however some need to be booked in advance. We chose to lunch at C-Beach Club on our first day and at Infinity Blue restaurant on the 2nd day.

One thing I can guarantee is that you won’t get bored during your stay. There is so much to do and see at Heritage resort.
Golfing : free green fee !
Spa : with 12 treatment rooms, ham ham, sauna, their super relaxing pool, additional minus degree freezing water pool – you can spend a whole afternoon at Seven Colours spa (Awali).
Next on list is the gym, inland & sea activities. Even the lounge/bar provides some board games.
The pool !!! They have a huge adult only pool near the main bar and another child friendly pool near Infinity restaurant. Water guns and other free gadgets are available to keep the kids and adults entertained.
Open air cinema free / Boma African night for a supplement and live entertainment.
They can do better in terms of night entertainment though. Those under 30s normally prefer a more vibrant and lively atmosphere. Maybe a disco tech or live bands that are more appealing to youngsters would have been great.
More than just Awali
As mentioned before, you get free access to their two five star hotels, villas, nature reserve Domaine de Bel ombre, dozen restaurants, spas, golf course and of course the sea, when you book for one of the hotels. You are not confined to one place. You can take a walk around visit the sibling hotels such Heritage Telfair or C-Beach club (read about my seasunsand lunch experience at C-beach Club), visit the shell musuem at Chateau Bel Ombre or head to Frederica nature reserve for some adventure and much more. They provide a free navettte that will take you around if you want to explore the surrounding areas.
A 5* hotel significantly distinguishes itself from a 4* one in terms of professionalism and quality of service they offer. I give the hotel 9/10 (-1 for entertainment). Overall I had a lovely time at Awali ! 🙂
I booked via Marideal, payment was quickly done and all my requests considered.
