Go natural, Apple Cider Vinegar as ‘Toner’

A few months ago, I felt it was high time to set up a skincare routine. My life has been through a scary roller coaster these last few years leading to stress building, improper dieting, having to take medicines which eventually transformed my skin into unrecognizable. I always suffered from a little bit of hyper pigmentation here and there but now my baby skin was suffering from acne (hormonal imbalance due to stress) with marks taking forever to fade.

Personally I think clear skin is a better and safer option to covering using a lot of products. Of course, we all love makeup but keeping it minimal is way more attractive. Out of all the brands in the market, hunting for the products that suit your skin type can be a nightmare. I did try 2 or 3 different toners before but they were not enough in themselves to inspire me to maintain a skincare routine until I laid hands on this magical potion.

According to Dr. Karen Hammerman, ”Skin is naturally acidic but when vinegar is used as a toner, it helps skin find the ideal balance between dry and oily”

I swear by this too. My cheeks and the area around my mouth were always dry with no problem for the rest of my face. Ever since I added this to my skincare routine, apple cider vinegar is doing its magic and I am getting better skin. It has significantly reduced any redness on my face together with fighting hyper pigmentation. My mum is also noticing a lot of differences in her skin since she started to use apple cider vinegar toner.

A few benefits of using apple cider vinegar includes :

  • It regulate the production of sebum and balances out pH. This prevents your skin from getting too oily or too dry.
  • It helps to reduce blemishes and fight acne and wrinkles too.
  • It can also be mixed with your shampoo to get rid of dandruff.

How I use it ?

I just filled a mini bottle half with apple cider vinegar and half water which I apply using just my hand or cotton pads after washing my face. I then allow it to dry for a minute and carry on with eye cream and moisturizer. I use it only at night because of the smell. You can also add a few drops of tea tree oil or rose water to it if you wish.

So simple !

Goodbye bad skin, Hello perfect skin.

Do give it a try, your skin and bank balance will thank you.

Sounds great! I’ll have to give it a try. I’m outside so much, it’s hard on the skin!

Oh yes! And I do keep sunscreen on my face but didn’t until about age 50!

I may have to try this. I’ll try anything that might help with wrinkles.
