Stay at Swiss-Belresort Watu Jimbar hotel – Sanur, Bali

Located just around five mins’ walk from a stretch of golden sand, impressive sea and a number of beach restaurants, Swiss-Belresort Watu Jimbar is a four star international hotel in the lovely area of Sanur. It takes around 30 mins from Ngurah Rai International Airport to reach the resort. There are umpteen eating options in the surrounding (we had dinner at the hotel itself mostly), a night market, Starbucks, temples, museums, spas (Check out Carla Spa – Great deals at affordable rates) and a beach market. Sanur is mostly known for being a quiet and family oriented area.

Rooms (8/10)

The best thing ever, your room comes with either an outdoor private Jacuzzi (unfortunately I didn’t have the time to enjoy this facility but my brother did) or a plunge pool. The room is huge with a king sized bed, basic amenities, a mini fridge, flat-screen TV and locker. The only drawback is the bathroom, the toilet is tiny and there is no door to the toilet-shower area thus privacy is unfortunately compromised. Otherwise, there’s plenty of room for storage and a balcony with a great view.

Service and Hospitality (10/10)

Sometimes a simple but warm greeting from a hotel staff makes your day. These staffs at Swiss Belresort never get tired saying hello with their hands folded and head bowed each time they see you. They make you feel special and important. Isn’t this a great sign of hospitality? The reception is on 24 hours, so any query is quickly resolved.

It was my brother’s birthday and we asked if they could make a little birthday cake for him. They did not only bring the cake but also sang happy birthday song in group and congratulated my brother.

Food (10/10)

We had free buffet breakfast included in our package. There is a pancake and omelette station (They make the tastiest pancake ever!!!), coffee/tea, selection of fresh fruit juices, mini pastries and a variety of bread. Ah you also get some traditional Bali dishes such as nasi goreng, mee goreng and curries for breakfast.

The restaurant is open the whole day and provide lunch and dinner options a la carte or buffet. We tried a number of different dishes and they were all yummy. Their cocktails are really good too! They have theme night buffet. We had a lot of fun trying to teach the staffs Mauritian language – Creole. They also have a small cafe, ice cream station and pool bar (free welcome drink voucher on arrival – which is amazing).

Extras

The hotel provide towel and lounge chairs for those who want to chill at the beach. There is also an indoor gym. You can contact the hotel if you need airport transfers (surcharge) and surprisingly they provide currency exchange service or can help you with day trips arrangements. There are a number of taxis outside the hotel or along the main street. Do check out the little street from the hotel that takes you to the beach, lots of instagrammable hotspots.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Swiss Bel-resort Watu Jimbar Sanur and especially the food. I would come back again for sure.
